We’re proud to share that Cybercy Founder and CEO Sunny Vara has been named a finalist in the Global Entrepreneur of the Year category for the Midlands at the 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Described by Steven Bartlett as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship”, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards recognise entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the UK for their innovation, resilience and impact. The winners will be announced on 16 November 2026 at The Great Room, Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
Where it all started
Cybercy’s story begins with a personal one. Sunny was the victim of a serious fraudulent cyberattack, and that experience changed everything. Determined to understand how it happened and help others avoid the same, he developed a deep expertise in cyber security and went on to found Cybercy Group.
It’s a founding story that still shapes how the business operates today: practical, personal, and genuinely committed to helping organisations stay protected.
From Birmingham to the world
What began as a Midlands-based consultancy has grown into a global business with offices in the UK, UAE and India. Cybercy works with organisations to strengthen their cyber security, manage data protection obligations, and adopt AI responsibly – helping clients understand where they are today, what needs to improve, and how to move forward with confidence.
Being recognised in the Global Entrepreneur of the Year category reflects that international journey.
In Sunny’s own words
“Being named a finalist is a real honour, particularly in a category that recognises businesses with an international outlook. Cybercy was founded from a difficult personal experience, but it has grown because of the commitment of our team and the trust our clients place in us.
“Cyber security, data protection and responsible AI are now central business issues for organisations everywhere. We have always wanted to make those areas more practical and accessible, helping clients understand where they are today, what they need to improve and how to move forward with confidence.
“I am proud that a business built in the Midlands is now supporting organisations internationally, and grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.”
“This recognition belongs to everyone at Cybercy – the team who show up every day, and the clients who trust us with some of their most important business challenges. Thank you.”
